Thelma Thomas, 73, died September 10, 2018 at Concord Nursing Home in Brooklyn, NY. Her funeral service will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Brooklyn, NY. Thelma Thomas then will be flown to Grenada where she will be interred at St. David’ Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Thelma, affectionately known as “Carmen” by those closest to her was born on September 14, 1944 in St. David’s, Grenada to Lenora Francis and Sylvester Radix. She graduated from St. David’s R.C High School. Ms. Thomas moved to the United States in October 1985 and was employed as a Mental Health Technician at NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation- Metropolitan Hospital Center.
Thelma was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart to all as well as taught us the value of hard work, perseverance and the importance of family above all.
She is survived by her mother Lenora Francis, 5 sons, Eddie, Albert, Arnold, Nichol and Jassim, 3 daughters, Renee, Caron and Cassandra, 9 grandchildren Randy, Colleen, Nichole, Arnell, Tia, Jerrad, Tayon, Riley, Joshua, 3 sisters Merlin, Annette, Angie, 6 brothers Tony, Claude, George, Charles, Mcdumus, Gleen, many nieces, nephews and friends.
