The late Annie Handy funeral service will be held on Saturday 25th May at David Williams Funeral Service located at 108-20 Sutphin Blvd Jamaica Queens. The viewing will be held from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, following will be the service at 12:00pm.

Special Info  Annie Mae Handy was born August 30, 1934 , to Frank Steele and Angie (Ford) Steele in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was the fifth child out of 9 children. Annie Mae graduated from Longdale High school in 1954 and attended Mary Homes Jr. College in Mississippi. After attending college Ann Mae moved to Meriden Mississippi and worked as a baby sitter. At a young age she accepted Christ and was baptized at United Methodist church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. In 1959 Annie Mae met her husband James Handy. In 1962 James and Annie Mae moved to New York City where she worked at Eisenberg Sweater Factory. A few years later James and her purchased a home in St. Albans Queens. Annie Mae later joined Bible Way Church under Sr. Pastor Jessie Davenport. Annie Mae loved her family and friends. She loved to host barbecues at her home for family and friends to enjoy. She was the life of the party were she showed off her dance moves with the popping of her fingers! She loved Basketball and Baseball. Thanks giving, and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was a giving and caring person. Annie Mae Handy entered into eternal rest on the evening of Saturday May 11, 2019 at Jamaica Queens Hospital in Jamaica New York. He ex-husband, James Handy; parents, Frank Steele and Angie (Ford) Steele; and 7 sibling preceded her in death. Annie Mae leave to cherish beautiful memories: two sisters Louise Davis of Meridian, and MS, Queenie Victoria Sanders of Charleston, SC; one uncle W.H. Steele of Philadelphia, Mississippi, a host of cousins, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, God children, and friends.
