Special Info  Carl David Thompson (AKA “Streaker”, “Carlos” “Mr. Chin”, Foodie Pang) was born on July 23, 1954, in Kingston, Jamaica to the proud parents, of Lurline Agatha Dixon and Lloyd David Thompson. Carl was the second child of five children. Carl attended Gem Basic School in his formative years he then went on to St. Francis Primary School on Hope Road. Later he attended John Mills All-Age School then, later on he went on to further his education at Kingston College. Carl had a great bunch of friends who were members of the Atoms Dance Group. The group consisted of four young men from the Church Youth Club. He was also a member of the Church Soccer Youth Club. Anyone who knew Carl, knew he liked to dance. It was a sight to see him on the dance floor doing his two-step and three-step slow dance. In the 70’s he appeared on the television program called “Where It’s At” which was the Jamaican version of “Soul Train”. At one point, Carl thought he was the next Muhammed Ali he took up boxing. He trained at Son Batson Gym near National Heroes Park. He was an avid boxer slated to make his amateur debut until he decided to call it quits. All who knew him, knew that he was the friend you wanted to have in your corner because he did not take well with anyone bullying or intimidating those he cared about. In 1989 Carl migrated to New York with his daughter Noshina, leaving behind Sylvia and his son. He had plans to unite his family. In the process of doing so Carl worked as a Security Guard with Web Security for two years. He also worked as a HVAC technician which was one of his trades. These opportunities later allowed Carl to reunite with his wife and son who joined him in New York in 1996. Carl courted Sylvia for a period of time before she became his wife and the mother of his children. Sylvia preceded him in death. He continued to work as a cabdriver at Laurelton Car Service (“Cab#06”) to support his family. He transported the young and old. Carl was trusted by parents to take their children to and from school. Those children were like his own, he cared for them although he was often late picking them up from school. Carl was a kind and funny person filled with laughter. A few of his favorite words when speaking with anyone he would call them “ yu’ a idiot”, “yu a Fool” or call someone “country” while laughing out loud. Carl is survived by his father Lloyd, three children, Noshina, Carl Jr., Akelia, three grandchildren Mahlik, Zachariah and Sylvia. five sisters, five brothers, eight nephews, four nieces, nine great nieces and nephews, a slew of family and friends. His memories and spirit will live on.
