Royman Sylvester Virgo, (also known as Damion), was born in Cambridge, St. James Jamaica on April 3rd, 1981, to mother, Idolyn Virgo and father, Roy Virgo. During his childhood, he attended Cambridge Infant School and Cambridge Primary School. While growing up in Jamaica, he had a passion for fishing and rooster fights. At times when he had gone fishing, his siblings would have to go looking for him, because he would not leave before catching something worthwhile to take home. He was so in love with rooster fights that he asked his father to buy him a rooster which he used to compete with, but at no time would he want to be on the losing side. If his rooster was getting beaten, instead of losing, he would start a fight himself.
At age 16, he joined his mother in the United States and continued his education at Springfield High School in Queens, New York. After high school, he studied auto mechanics at Apex Technical School in Manhattan. He loved auto mechanics and he was good at it. He got the opportunity to practice his craft at several locations in Brooklyn. At the end of each workday, he would usually hang out with his friends. He was a jovial person and would spend time with his brother talking about their time growing up in Jamaica. Damion would visit the Evangelical Temple, Inc. at 547 Chester Street in Brooklyn. This house of worship is shepherded by Pastor Marcus Soleyn who allowed him the privilege to set up and manage his auto repair shop on the church premises.
Damion was the third child of his mother’s four children. He is survived by mother, Idolyn Francis’, father, Roy Virgo, wife, Melissa Virgo, stepfather, Calvin Francis, three children: Javaughn 19 years old, Malachi 17, and Dominick 14, sister Patricia, four brothers Leroy, Kenroy, Roy, and Wolsey McLeod, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be dearly missed. May his soul rest in peace.
