Audrey Camille Thom was born on 02/04/1954: At Georgetown Guyana, she passed away peacefully on 04/01/2022. She was the daughter of Benjamin Durant and Violet Michael both deceased: Audrey was the mother of Evores Thom, Mother-in-law of Nickiala Thom, Grandmother of Jayla Thom, Jedidiah Thom. And Jozara Thom. Sister of Marilyn Solomon, Margaret William Albert and Elizabeth Ferrell and Peter Durant. Sister-in-law of Philbert Solomon, Clover and Joan Ferrell. Aunt of Natalya, Richard, Tiffany, Onica and a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends too numerous to mention.
Audrey spent her formative years in Campbellville under the guidance of her maternal grandmother and mother: She attended St Mary’s RC School and sectorial school where she obtained her shorthand and typing certificates.
Audrey had an outgoing personality and made friends easily, She had an infectious smile along with a kind and generous spirit, she did not hesitate to assist and be supportive to anyone who required her assistance.
Audrey worked at NIS from 1982-1993, when she migrated to the USA: During the above-mentioned period she met her husband Keith Thom, a fellow employee whom she married in 1990. The union bore a son, Evores.
Upon her arrival in the USA Audrey’s academics are as follows.
Nyack College: MS on Organizational Leadership
Fordham University: BSC in Dietetics’ and Nutrition
Orange County College: Associate in Applied Science
Audrey worked as a dietitian for Morrison’s Enterprise and the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center from 2006-2021. She also served a brief stint as a substitute teacher at Middletown High School.
