Dr. Tyrone Ashon John 7lbs & 5 ounces at 2:15am on the 9th of May 1980 within East Elmhurst General Hospital in Queens, New York to Rickford Lenox and Melrose Elizabeth John. Tyrone is the 3rd of 3 wonderful boys. A proud product of Linden Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) School at an early age Tyrone learned to incorporate the christ-centered foundational principles necessary in the cultivation of his mind, body and soul. Tyrone attended Andrew Jackson High School, where he was revered by his teachers, winning numerous Track and Field, academic and service awards. After graduating magna cum laude he attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. While at the University he took a year off to attending the Escuela Internacional de Espanol in Quito- Ecuador. While attending this Spanish emersion university, he felt that staying with the host family and excelling in his course work was not enough. Thus, Tyrone began conducting tours in Spanish at the local Ecuadorian historical museum. He then graduated with Honors, completing his Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Tyrone’s profound thirst for knowledge, aggressiveness and burgeoning desire to achieve excellence propelled him to obtain his Masters Degree in Education from Cambridge College.
Graduating at the top of his class he quickly developed & implemented his plan to utilize his education to change the world. He began working at Queens Gateway to Health Science Secondary School, where he was heavily invested in having maximum impact on the lives of every student he encountered. He went above and beyond with the ultimate goal of touching the mind, body and soul of the co-workers and students around him. Between teaching his students math and science, he sought to completely enrich his students’ lives. Tyrone not only created an after school Salsa dancing program, he also served as a mentor, friend, confidant and so much more. Always thinking of ways to improve the lives’ of those around him he went on to complete his second Master Degree from Fordham University obtaining his degree in _____
Tyrone’s burgeoning desire to reach the pinnacle of education success led him to New York University where he completed is Doctoral Degree in Education. Tyrone began working at East New York Family Academy where he continued to spread his mission of instilling excellence, fostering personal and intellectual growth while silently impacting the hearts and minds of all around him. The humility he exuded profoundly magnified his christian spirit, giving nature and angelic soul.
Tyrone had a deep and profound connection to Linden SDA Church. He served as assistant clerk, school board chair and achieved Master Guide status within the Pathfinder Club. Tyrone strived to spread the advent message throughout all aspects of his profession and personal life. He sought to live by the grace of God, exude how the love of christ competed him. He taught and exemplified courtesy and obedience while always remained pure, kind and true.
