Special Info  Denise Michelle Bowers was born on August, 23, 1958 to Leah Bowers and Reginald Peterson in Corona, NY. Denise grew up in Corona and Bayside, Queens where she attended the NYC public schools. She desired a career that would utilize her ability to help and nurture people, which led her to becoming a home health aide, a position she was very passionate about. Denise had a strong personality. She was known for her loyalty. She would ride for family and friends, no matter what. As a teenager she was characterized as a “bully” because she would step in and” fight” anyone to help and protect her friends if necessary. Denise was also known for her giving spirit. If she, had it, and you needed it, it was yours. She loved cooking, partying, playing cards and listening to old school music. On Friday, May 13, 2022, Denise Bowers was called home by The Lord and transitioned from earth to glory. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Leah Bowers, brother Joseph Bowers, grandmother Emma Oliphant, great grandmother, Zella Hartley, aunts, Carol Griffin, Arlene Mathis and best friend Beatrice Miles. She is survived by her sons, Jonathan Bowers, Jason Bowers {Katheryne], and Joel Bowers, her beloved daughter and best friend, Jessica Bowers, precious grandchildren Julien and Kristina. She is also survived by sister, Tasha Lewis-Cheeks, [Patrick], niece, Ashley Cheeks, special cousin Althea Johnson-Starks, dear friends, Alberta Oliver, Janice Walker, Audrey Allen, Rachelle Bernabue, Mindy Weiss and special friend, Curtis Jackson Sr. and a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
