Special Info  Edna Cleopatra Jones Gibbons, lived an amazing life. On October 14, 1927, a beautiful child was born to the late Priscilla and Joseph Jones at Bagotsville West Bank Demerara, Guyana. Edna was the oldest of her siblings, of whom there were Inez, Vasthi, Una, Berle, John (all deceased) survived by Jabez and Joseph Jones. Edna attended Bethel Congregation School at Vauxhall where she received her formative level of education. Her education continued with her attending the Carneige School of Home Economics in Georgetown. There she learned and develop skills in home economics. Edna married in 1949 to Leon Gibbons. A union that produced seven children. Johnsley, Ulric, Lynden (deceased) Camille, Michael, Garfield (deceased) and Keith. Most of Mother’s life was concentrated on working to care for her family, as she worked assiduously as a vendor. In 1976 she migrated to the United States of America and resided in New York. Being a Sabbath worshipper, her practice and beliefs were consolidated and solidified as she was thrilled with worshipping and with the teachings of her Pastors, Dr. R. C. and Lady J. A. Connor. For years she was glorified in her fellowship with the Agapé Church family in which Pastor appointed her as the Mother. Edna worked in the USA as a Home Attendant under the auspices of Dr. Spielberg. Her close affiliation through the Institute of the Blind had her assigned to work with those who were sightless. Her sickness never stopped her from attending church on the Sabbath, even during periods of inclement weather she would insist on going to church. When questioned about safety, she would often say, “Who are you to say I cannot go to worship my Lord?” Mom would complain of not being well Monday - Friday, but on Sabbath she still went to church. Mom never stopped having strong belief in her care giver Ashaki, the person she trusted explicitly. The family is appreciative for the love, care, patience, and devotion rendered by her special “C.” There is a survival tree of a large contingent of descendants associated to Mother Gibbons. Aunt Janet, Pinky, Pauline, Rosalind, Errol, Everton, Vernese, Penny, Elsin, Elwin. Vinenne, Faye, Merlyn, Wendy (deceased), Eshol, Prince (deceased), Vaselia, Tamica, Dexter, Persil, Ceon, Wanda, Jackie, Raul (deceased), Layton, Sonia and Jennifer. Grandmother of Ama, her beloved grandson, Rasleigh, Dwayne, Ceon, Junior, Mark, Shenelle, Tiffany, Yannick, Shanika, Cyre, Fabian, Tevin, Dequan, Terrin, Natasha Kessler. Mother-In-Law of Jacqueline, Rosie, Candace, and Dianne. Great Grandmother of Justin, Madison, Rondel, Skylar, London, Chase, Tyler, Jailin, Tristen, and the beloved Mother of the Agapé Sabbath Day Church Family. Mother Gibbons fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith. She fell asleep in Jesus and entered her eternal rest on the day of rest, Sabbath, December 17, 2022. She now awaits the sound of the first trumpet when the dead in Christ will rise first to ascend to Heaven to forever be with the Lord. Submitted in Love by her family.
