Special Info |
Lillian Elizabeth Burt was born on March 30, 1970, the second child of three daughters to Leroy and
Catherine Burt. She was born and raised in Brooklyn; and the later years the family moved to South
Ozone Park Queens, where she lived until the sunset on January 11, 2023.
In August of 1992 Lillian gave birth to her son Benjamin Tyler Colon and then six years later, in March of
2003 she gave birth to her daughter Azaria Catherine Burt. When it comes to her children, Tyler was the
child that she found inner strength and Azaria was the child that she found inner freedom. With that
combination of both, created the bond of love, peace, and happiness in her life.
Lillian was an extraordinary artist. At a youthful age, she would naturally draw whatever catches her
eye, and put a unique spin to it. She would impress her friends and family with the drawings and designs
created. A simple thing like playing cards she turned into a work of art. With that amazing gift, her
parents enrolled her in Pratt Institute for the Art; and after completing a couple of classes, she then
enrolled in The Art Institute of New York City and obtained her Associates Degree in graphic design
To share that passion and love of the Arts, she accepted a position in the Public School, system, as an Art
Teacher teaching pre-k children how to draw. The children were inspired and loved coming to Lillian’s
class. The gratification received from watching her students blossoming and loving her art class was most rewarding for her. This talent she passed on to her children. Her biggest delight was drawing and creating beautiful art with her children, family, and anyone who loves to draw and wanted to learn.
She leaves her mother, father, daughter Azaria Burt, niece Crystal Vega, sister Michelle Burt-Vega and a
host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lillian now dwells in the house and the hands of the Lord. |
