Special Info  Sheila Barrow was born on July 2nd, 1938, to Valerie Barrow. She spent her early childhood on the island of Barbados, West Indies, with her sister Phyllis. Her sister Joyce was added to the family in Trinidad. Sheila emigrated to Trinidad and Tobago and had her first two children, Sharon and Brian. She made the difficult decision to forge a better life for her family abroad. Despite not speaking Spanish, she moved to Puerto Rico and started her journey of realizing the American dream. She later moved to Philadelphia, PA, and planted her roots in Queens, NY. Her family continued to grow, and she had her youngest son, Aaron. After many years of self-sacrifice, she purchased her earthly home in Jamaica, Queens. This home became the epicenter for generations of her descendants, and her residence became the first home for five grandchildren. Sheila's achievements knew no bounds. While caring for and supporting her family in many ways, she could still enjoy the fruits of her labor. Between the long shifts at Flushing Hospital as a nurse's aide, she found time to nurture many friendships and even explore the globe. She visited four of the seven continents and over twenty-eight countries, most recently going to Bermuda in August 2022 with her family. Now she embarks on her final journey to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind many dear friends and family. Some knew her as Sheila, Mom, Granny, and Nanna. Although she held many titles in life, we take solace that in death, she earned her greatest title of all, Child of God. Her legacy will remain with her loved ones Sharon, Wade, Aaron, Brian, Cherease, Christian, Jaiden, Jahren, Jahzeel, Kareem, Joivel, Lauren, Asher, Amarlia, Rome, Azeel, Kadeem, Nicola, Martha, DeDe, Betty, and Violet among others. We will miss her. May she rest in peace.
