Special Info  Louisa Noel. Born in Grenada on June 19th, 1928. She was the daughter of Roselia Wyse and Marcus Joseph both(deceased). Mom always spoke about how hard it was growing up in Grenada as a child. Many times school was out of the picture and the mountains were the place to go and bring a heavy load of food for herself and other siblings. Making her a very strong person. She would learn to cook as a child and One of her favorite vegetables to cook was green banana. She always spoke about world war 2 and how hard it was to acquire basic necessities. They would frequently go to the sea to collect sea water to cook with because of a lack of salt. They would make sure that they had no lights on at night so the planes won't see their homes. Her experience with Janet in 1955 was also horrific, losing all their crops and so many houses being blown away from dreadful storms. In later years she had brought two beautiful girls into the world. Valerie Joseph and Vilma Joseph(deceased) and left them with mama her mother and migrated to Trinidad to find work. During this time she met a man named Irie Campbell and had four other children Alister, Desmond, Sharon and Ken(deceased). Life for her there was hard and their grandmother took them to Grenada to live. As the years progressed she found work with justice kelsick and boasted about the many trips down the islands and she was the chef who cooked many sweet hand dishes for their many gatherings and family time. She also spoke about Sir Ellis Clark who visited the home to hang out with Justice kelsick. At this residence this is where louisa met David Noel who came to do repairs on their house. They both fell in love and had two children, Lisa and Basil. Got married and lived in the Maracas Valley hills for many years. She used her Grenadian skills to plant peas, corn, sorell and green banana and also beautiful krotens in the front of their house. She would also make tamarind balls and sugar cake and the kids in the neighborhood would frequently run to the hills to buy her goodies. Louisa knew how to make a dollar. She would even participate in carnival selling her goodies around the savannah. Eventually as the years would pass by, she migrated to New York City aka the Big Apple. Here she would work little jobs here and there until she landed a job with the company “Zabars” taking care of their mother until her death. After this she pursued a course in home health aide and landed other jobs in the field taking care of other patients. After retirement her son and daughter joined her. She went on to participate in many activities. One such activity was visiting Europe through church. Participating in the charismatic group every Thursday night at St Mathews church. Another going to crochet and knitting classes through 1199.. Mom loved to cook so sunday lunch was a must. It use to be trini and grenadian style food. If you leave the house and come back you sure to smell the stew chicken from afar. As the years went by her health deteriorated and she could not go to the kitchen any more or go outside. On 14th dec 2022, mom fell ill and ended up in the hospital and when she regained consciousness and we saw her she was praying and never stop until the last week before she passed. Mom we miss you. we love you. We know your in a better place, no more pain mom. She leaves to mourn her sister Anastasia, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grand children, children Valarie, Alister, Desmond, Sharon, Lisa, Basil, ken(deceased) AND vilma(deceased)
