The funeral service for the late Shirley Brown will be held on Wednesday April 12th 2023 at David Williams Funeral Service located at 102-08 Sutphin Blvd Jamaica NY.

Special Info  Shirley Bernadette Brown was born on October 10th, 1944, in Brooklyn NY to Martha L Isaac- Allman and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Shirley was an educated women who prided herself on being informed and knowledgeable about the world and where she came from. Her education journey started with her attending Catholic elementary school and then graduating from Sarah J. Hale High School. Shirley then put herself through college right her in New York City and attended CUNY Brooklyn College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. However, she didn’t stop their. Shirley afterwards attended the prestigious Columbia University and graduated with a Master of Arts degree on May 16th, 1973. Shirley used her passion for education to help better the world and her community. She worked within the New York City Public Schools as a teacher for some years. Shirley wasn’t satisfied with just educating her community and left NYC public school system to go on to Ohio State University law school. After she graduated, she returned to Brooklyn NY. She started working within New York City Public School again and after 40 years of educating others she retired in 2008. Shirley had so much success and was happy with her career goals. However, she wanted a family of her own. She then went onto begin her own family and she adopted three children Edan Anthony Brown, Kimberly Kirkland, and Michael Brown who she raised and loved all throughout her natural life. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Martha L Isaac- Allman and by Mr. and Mrs. Brown. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, two sisters Fannie Williams of Laurelton New York, sister Barbara and brother in-law Sydney Butler of Stroudsburg PA, and one brother Stanley and sister in-law Mary Allman of Brooklyn NY. She leaves three nieces, four nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and one Aunt Theola Miller of Philadelphia PA.
