Special Info  Obituary for Mr. Sidonia Gordon Mr. Sidonia Gordon, was the son of the late Deloris Williams and Vernon Gordon. Sidonia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He passed at Stony Brook University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Siddy, as he was known was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on February 13,1955. He was always busy, never one to sit around when there was work to be done, and a dollar to be made. Siddy worked all his life. In Jamaica, West Indies, he used to sell fish fresh from the Caribbean Sea. He later operated a taxicab and became well-known for shuttling tourists and locals around the island. You could hear customers shout, “Hey Siddy, can I catch a ride to Bay?” His response “soon come,” which meant he would arrive 20 to 30 minutes later as he squeezed in another fare. During his spare time, he loved to listen to music!! Raggae and mixing old school R &B with the new hits. Siddy came to Boston to join his family in September 1995. After a short time, he relocated to New York to be with the love of his life, Miss Jackie. In New York, Siddy continued to hustle. He worked wherever he could, hauled equipment, fixed trucks, bought a house and made a life for himself and his loving family. He was not dealt an easy hand in this life, but he played the cards he was dealt. One card he couldn’t overcome was diabetes. Complications from that monster took Siddy too soon. Sidonia is preceded by his mother Deloris, his dad Vernon, his sisters Jean and Joann Thompson. He leaves behind his loving wife Jackie, sons Jermaine and Shuan, daughters Kayon and Jamel, son in law Steve. Siblings Pearline, Sam, Nellie, Charles (Winsome) and Sandra, grandchildren Kiersten, Kyla, Michal, Cavalli, Andrew, Jermaine Jr, Jordaine, O’Neil and Kayden, many nieces and nephews as well as friends and associates. He will be MISSED, but the Lord needed him more. God speed, and good rest uncle Sidi.
