Special Info  Kenneth Edward Curry was born on June 3, 1965, to the late MaryAnn Curry and Norman Curry in Far Rockaway, New York. The second of five siblings, Kenny, was educated in the New York City Public School system. He attended Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California for a period, and returned to New York to graduate with his High School Diploma from Far Rockaway High School. Several years after graduation, Kenny enrolled in LaGuardia Community College to pursue his degree in accounting, as he was someone who absolutely loved math. He was the most mischievous child and the shortest of his siblings. While growing up, it seemed he always had a point to prove. He felt he was invincible. It’s hard to believe he once had a temper and had very little patience. While a student at LaGuardia Community College, he became a father to his beautiful daughter, Kimberly. The trajectory of his life changed in February of 1988. Kenny sustained a gunshot wound that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Even in this, he persevered. Through intense physical therapy, he regained the use of his arms and upper body. From then, he enrolled as a fulltime student at York College where he obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting in May of 1995. Kenny went on to work at several non-profit organizations and private companies as the sole accountant. He was responsible for everything from staff payroll to filing business taxes. As a side business, he also prepared personal income taxes, often having the same clients for many years. Everyone he worked with truly appreciated his wisdom and professional demeanor. Kenny was known to be a sharp dresser. Never would you catch him looking disheveled. Proper appearance meant a lot to him, and it showed from head to toe. He was quite a forward thinker. Always in planning mode. Anywhere from traveling, concerts, amusements he would do his thorough research to ensure that everything turned out well. He was a protector and provider. Known to be someone who assisted those in need, even if that meant literally taking the shirt off his own back. He loved Tweety Birds and had amassed quite the collection. Taking cruises became a favorite pastime for him. Kenny developed and maintained a genuine relationship with Christ. There is not a time you wouldn’t hear him pausing to give thanks to Jesus, his lord and savior. He made Jesus the head of his life, shared of his goodness and encouraged others to give their cares to the Lord and watch it work out for their good. In knowing Kenny, you got fun, joy, laughter, jokes, dedication, devotion and the desire to see everyone succeed in life. He loved his family, and he loved people. Kenny passed away on June 21, 2023, in Hempstead, New York. He received excellent care from Mercy Hospital and Good Shepherd Hospice. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved daughter: Kimberly Curry; his granddaughter; Yakira Ortiz, Father: Norman Curry; his four siblings; Karen Norman of Charlotte, North Carolina; Kelvin Curry of Los Angeles, California; Karl Curry (Sheilette) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kurtis Curry of Charlotte, North Carolina. A whole host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
