Tanya Lynn Perkins was born on February 7, 1963, in Queens General Hospital, in Jamaica, New York, to Yvonne Richardson and Arthur Adams, Jr. Tanya’s childhood was a happy upbringing. She was a very talkative and active child. Tanya received her education through the New York City Public School System. Tanya enjoyed telling jokes and laughing. She loved to reminisce about family gatherings from the past. Tanya loved to wear sneakers and always wore stylish clothing. Tanya was overprotective of family members. If someone offended a family member, Tanya would go on an expedition to find them. Tanya was like a jellybean, hard on the outside, but soft on the inside. Tanya touched many hearts and will be missed by all who loved her.
Tanya departed this journey on December 5, 2023, after a long battle with health issues. She leaves to cherish her memory, Sisters, Rosemary James, Kim Perkins, Sherill Perkins, Traci Adams, Bridget Adams and Holly Adams; Brothers, Robert Perkins and David Perkins; Aunts, Carolynn Barnes, Dawn Adams, Frances Adams and Sheila Saleem; Uncles, Cary Barnes; Nieces, Tyeisha, Zurema,Tiffani, Mikuel, Shanel, Diamond, Kyia, Epiphany and Lahtiana; Nephews, Christopher and Dewight; Great Nephews, Brennen (Jeff) and Austin (Peanut Brittle) and Brice (Mutt); First Cousins, Dawn Vandyne and Sandra Ware, and a host of exceptional cousins, friends and neighbors who loved her dearly.
