The funeral for the late Osford Andrew Jones will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. Vincent Ferrer RC located at 925 E 37th St, Brooklyn NY 11210. There will be a viewing from 10:30am to 11:00am immediately followed by the funeral at 11:00am.

Osford Jones also known as “Power” and “OJ” was born in Brizan, St. George’s Grenada the isle of spice. He resided in Brooklyn, New York from 1978 until his passing on Tuesday April 9, 2024 at the age of 67. Osford was married to Debra Greaves-Jones. They shared two sons; Andrew and Anthony Jones and one granddaughter named Vivian Jones. He was the brother of Cuthbert Jones also known as “Shakey” in Grenada, Joseph Jones also known as “Pisty” in the USA and Bernadette Tompkin also known as Edris in Grenada. He was the Brother-in-law of Ann Jones, Maude Patterson, Dale Taylor, Lyneth owhoy, and Errol Greaves. And the Father-in-law of Sharlene Jones. He was the nephew of Mrs. Cossil Harford, the cousin of Dr. Robert, Murray, and Terry Harford. To add to that, the cousin of Ms. Jean Greaves and Bryant Pascal. Osford was also a dear friend to Mrs. Betty Griffin and family. Osford was educated at the Happy Hill Roman Catholic Primary School, where he obtained a scholarship to the Roman Catholic Presentation Boys College to complete his secondary education in St.Georges, Grenada. After graduating from Presentation Boys College he was employed by the Ministry of Finance St. George’s, Grenada until his migration to the US in 1978. Osford then obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from York College in Queens, New York. He was employed by the City of New York Department of Finance for over 30 years until his retirement in March 2024. Known to be kind to many people he was very friendly and helpful, he loved a variety of music, to dance like no one was watching, a wide selection of food, maintaining his house plants, the city of New York and especially his homeland of Grenada, West Indies. He had many relatives and friends in the USA and Grenada including: James, Donna, Sally, Gleno, Judy Ann, June, Malon, Natasha, Kenny, Valda, Valentine, Chantal, Jenelle, Joseph Jr., John, Patricia, Collins, Martin, Alrick, Francis, Debra, Joanne, Dave, Dessa, Devon, Jexice, and Harron. The Jones, Greaves, Sandy, Gibbs, Mitchell, Dottins, and Amedé families in Brizan, Happy Hill, Mt Moritz and surrounding villages. Left to cherish his memory are all his relatives and friends.
