He was born on May 8, 1944, at Jubilee Hospital, Kingston Jamaica, to Olga-May Jacobs he was first born of 11 children's. Valentine Codwell never finished school at a high grade level. His hobby and passion for fishing and cooking was his only surviving mode for him and his family. When he met his life-long partner at the age of 19, his life and world changed for the good. He and his wife worked as a team to provide for their family. He would go out deep in the sunset to set his net and rise early before the sun came up. He would cart with morning fetch of the day with ice for her to take to the market while he is at home getting their children ready for school and to make a meal for his family to come home to. Valentine migrated to America in 2015 to settle permanently with his family. His favorite place is the kitchen. He loved to cook, listen to music, and listen to politics. He was genuinely concerned about becoming a citizen because he did not know what the outcome, was going to be with the president and America. Valentine may not know the outcome, but he survived by lifelong partner (61 years) and his wife for 48 years. Myoita Kenlock, his 8 surviving children Danny, Lorraine, Mark, Rodney, Juliet, Princess, Jackie, and Philip, he also leaves behind 32 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 3 brothers' many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Valentine Codwell was a good husband and father, but most of all, he was the best grandfather to his grandchildren.
