Remembering Elestine Harris
Elestine Albertha Dalmida Harris was born to the late Llyod E. Dalmida and Alice K. Dalmida on September 1st, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended the Peconic Riverhead High School and graduated in 1973 with honors. She furthered her education and went to college in 1974 receiving both her Associates and Bachelor's degrees with honors.
Elestine, along with her four brothers, later relocated from Riverhead, Long Island to Corona, Queens. As the only daughter in the family, she often helped out in her parents' shop, where she was lovingly known as "Sweet Pea." Elestine played a vital role in caring for her family and was the steady force that kept things running smoothly.
She would go on to meet the love of her life, Anthony Harris—also known as Tony—and they were married on May 7, 1977. Together, with love and devotion, they built a beautiful family of four sons and a cherished daughter Elestine had always prayed for. Their family was later completed with the addition of three more children, filling their home with even more love and joy.
Elestine's presence lit up every room she entered. Her warmth and generosity guided others with love. She leaves behind a lasting imprint in our hearts, and though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in each of us. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Elestine is survived by her brother Darryl Dalmida, her husband Anthony Harris, seven children: Moreen, Shawn, Kristopher, Leilani, Samuel, Calvin and Nicole, eighteen grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
Elestine is now reunited with her beloved parents, brothers, her eldest son Anthony Harris, Jr., and her precious grandson Kristopher Jr.
