Nathaniel Foster fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith. Through trials and triumphs, he walked with strength, humility, and grace. Now he rests in peace, having fulfilled his purpose with love in his heart and faith in his soul. Inspired by 2 Timothy 4:7 Mr. Nathaniel Foster was born on April 7, 1961 in Jamaica Queens, New York to William and Clara Foster. He was the oldest of eight children: Annette Foster, Joann Foster, Lindora Foster, Sidney Foster, Yvette Foster, Alexander Foster and Ronnie Foster (who preceded him in death). As the eldest child in the Foster household, Nathaniel naturally took on the leadership role early in life - a responsibility that shaped his strong, humble and caring character. He was known affectionately by his family and friends as "Biscuit" and "Skate," Nathaniel was loved for his easygoing spirit, quiet strength, and big heart. He had a passion for cooking and was known for trying new recipes. His fried chicken and cornbread became legendary in the family, and his food always brought people together. Cooking was not just something he did but it was one of the many ways he showed love. Nathaniel began his education at P.S.123, continued at Shimer Junior High, and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. While still in school he began working as a cook for ARA Food Services at the airport, a job he held for many years. Later, he joined Office Depot as a delivery driver, where he faithfully delivered packages to businesses throughout the city. One of the most unforgettable chapters of Nathaniel's life was surviving the September 11 attacks. He was working in the World Trade Center on the 77th floor that day, and by the grace of god, he made it out safely. His survival was a testament to his resilience and divine protection. Nathaniel was a devoted father to his two children: Mercedes Foster, with Donna Smith, and Natuan Deon Foster, with Sharon. He was a quiet but steady presence in their lives and will be deeply missed. Nathaniel had a gentle, kind soul. He was a man of humility, heart and strength and he will forever be remembered for the love he gave, the meals he cooked, and the peace he brought into every room he entered.
