Special Info Today, we gather with full hearts to honor the life of the late, Darcus Millicent Collins; known to all of us simply as Millie.

Millie was born on March 18th, 1950, in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to Ruby Bromfield and Haldon Deleon. As her mother's only child, she was raised with love, values, and strength that shaped the woman we came to know. Her childhood in Pedro Plains was filled with cousins, laughter, and simple joys. She loved helping, cleaning, and laughing. Traits that followed her throughout her life.

As a teenager woman, Millie moved to Kingston with her mother, determined to build a better future. There she later met and married her late husband Carlton, and on November 8th, 1967, she welcomed her greatest joy, her son Richard. He was her pride, her purpose, and her heart.

Millie's life was one of courage and sacrifice. She migrated to the Grand Cayman Islands, where she worked faithfully for the Pineto family while raising her son and saving to reunite with her husband in the United States. Later, she made her final move to New York, where her strong work ethic led her to long-term employment with the Knight-Greenfield family. There, she lovingly cared for their daughter Ashley, loving her as her own.

Millie showed love through action. She worked hard, gave selflessly, and cared deeply. Her strength was quiet, her love unconditional, and her presence steady and comforting.

Millie leaves behind her beloved son, two sisters, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends who were blessed by her love. Her legacy lives on through each of us.

Scripture tells us in 2 Timothy 4:7:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

These words reflect Millie's life, a life well lived, faithfully and fully.

Though we mourn today, we are grateful. Grateful for her sacrifices, her lessons, and her love. Rest peacefully, Millie. You will always be in our hearts.
