Special Info
|
Mary Elizabeth Moore was born on December 27,1930 in Louisburg,North Carolina. Mary was raised in North Carolina by parents Flonnie Jean Dales (Deceased) and Frank Horace Alston (Deceased). Mary's mother departed this earth when Mary was a young girl. Mary then assumed the role of nurturing and raising her siblings supporting her father. Mary was a very loving, caring and supportive person. Mary showed this in her early life while supporting her father in raising her siblings. Mary later showed this in life while raising her own children to be this way. Mary started her education in the North Carolina school system. Mary completed early training in the hospital environment/nursing in North Carolina as a young adult. Later after moving to New York as an adult for a better life Mary took night courses in the New York school system to get her GED. Mary taught herself sewing and became an excellent seamstress which she loved so much that she made this her hobby. She took pride in her sewing and her machines. Mary was always quick to help others with sewing issues and correct their mistakes. Mary always said that she wanted to make her own sewing room. Every time one of her children left home she said that was going to be her sewing room. After moving to New York and establishing her future she was able to bring her children here to live. Mary joined the Sisterhood of the Eastern Stars, worked numerous jobs as a seamstress (her passion), medical/hospital positions and retail management to support her family. After retiring with minor medical conditions and injuries she became a foster mother to many children throughout the years that followed. Mary rarely visited North Carolina after she moved to New York because all of her immediate family had passed. Mary had six siblings all deceased, Samuel Alston, Otis Alston, Horace Alston, Roy Alston, Frank Alston Jr. and Florence Richardson. Mary did get a chance to visit several times in recent years but she said that everything had changed and she didn't recognize anything. Mary departed this earth as the Matriarch of five generations residing in New York, North Carolina and Florida. Five children Jane Taylor, Jimmie Plummer, Mary Ming, Phillip Plummer, Christina Moore. Nine grandchildren Urina Taylor (Deceased), Felisha Halwick, Dormie-Baskerville-Plummer, Deirdre Plummer, Chnita Taylor, Donnell Plummer, Coye Plummer, Denzel Plummer, Grayson Bayliss.
