The funeral for the late Janice Elaine Jackson will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Praise Tabernacle Church located at 108-11 Sutphin Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11435. The viewing will be held from 1pm-2pm followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Please give your condolences to the Jackson family.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Jackson better known as Elaine who departed this life on February 18th, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on August 10th, 1959, in Lanett, Alabama to her dearly departed parents Mattie Sutton Jackson and Johnny Jackson. Janice moved to New Jersey Avenue in Brooklyn, New York in 1963 and graduated from John Adam's High School in 1976. Janice lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to family and community. She was known for kind heart, infectious laugh, wisdom, generosity, strong faith, and honesty. Janice touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Janice was a devoted Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Friend who found immense joy in caretaking, bingo, opening and closing the mall, family events and trips. Whether through phone calls, text messages, or face to face interactions she left a lasting impression that will never be forgotten. She is survived by her second Father Herbert McNeill, her children Ricky Johnson (Christabell), Ebony Jackson, Troy Jackson (Sabrina), and Imani Jackson. Grandchildren Julius Jennings, De'von Clayton, Zamarie Walcott, Bryson Jackson, Jelani Wright, Tristen Jackson and a precious first granddaughter who, though not yet born, already carries her love and legacy. Great Grandson Caleb Gibson. Also leaving behind her siblings James Jackson (Tammy), Jacqueline Jackson Bird (Christopher), and Marvin Jackson (Delmica) and Walter Briggins. She is lovingly remembered by a devoted circle of niece's and nephews. And was blessed with not only family by blood but by heart second family of love -The Johnsons whose bond will forever remain unbreakable. She leaves behind a circle of loyal and loving friends Nicole Cunningham, Angie Locus-Kelly, Sandra Legrand and dearly departed Andrea Shepherd. She was preceded in death by Mother Mattie Jackson and Father Johnny Jackson, Brother Johnny Jackson jr., Sister Shirley Briggins and grandson Te'quan Greenhowe. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Elaine's love and legacy will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. As Elaine would always say" It's never goodbye, always see you later".2
