The late Jessie James Hedgespeth funeral services will be held at Praise Tabernacle Church located 108-11 Sutphin Blvd Jamaica Queens. The viewing will be from 5:00pm -7:00 pm following the funeral service at 7:00 pm.

Special Info  Jessie James Hedgespeth was born March 17th, 1943 in Enfield North Carolina to Daniel Lee and Evett Fox-Hedgespeth. Growing up, Jessie was very quiet and shy. Jessie loved his cowboy movies and acting them out as if he was a real cowboy. He attended Emborden School in Enfield and worked on farm. He later met and married Dossie-Mae Bynom and from that union had one daughter, Debra Hedgespeth-Smalls. He then moved to New York at the age of 20. While living in New York he met Sandra Bourne and from this union had a son current Bourne. Jessie (Busta) was known for his charm and his smile and being a Ladies man. He later met the love of his life Blondell (Bebe) and from their union they had 5 children Surernia, Tyie, Joan, Kcasey, Clevon. Jessie was always a go getter, up bright and early, either making breakfast for his family or out making his taxi stand and game room operate. He also continued with his passion for cooking while working at a diner. That was something he always loved doing as a child with his mother. Busta is also known for his Frank wagon on 108 Sutphin Blvd with his country sodas and his famous Jessie Burgers. Jessie also loved to play his guitar and box, these are some of the things he would do with his grandsons. Busta, enjoyed going to the race track, Atlantic city and his card games with his brother in law William Candies (Uncle Willie) and best friend James Hughes ( Uncle James). Mr. Jessie (Busta) helped everyone, he never turned anyone away, from food to a place to stay you can count on busta. Mr Jessie a good man, a hardworking man, a family man, a provider, an angel gone too soon. Jessie became ill late July 2016 and went into hillside manor nursing home in Jamaica Queens. In May 2019 Busta was moved to peninsula nursing home in far rockaway Queens on Thursday May 16th 2019. Jessie gained his wings at 11:40 am Jessie was the oldest of 8 children. Jessie proceeded in death by his late father, Daniel Lee Hedgespeth. He is now reunited with the love of his life Blondell Ruddock. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Evett Fox-Hedgespeth, two brothers Frank Hedgespeth and Richard hedgespeth of Enfield N.C., 6 sisters, Naomi Hedgespeth Wright of New York, Minister Mildred H Boone of Fayetteville N.C., Mary Warner of Nashville N.C., Minister Evelyn Taylor, Minister Geneva Smith, Warner Bishop Henery Wright, Sister in law, Mary Hedgespeth, 6 children, Suvernia, Tyie, Joann, Kcasy, Clevon. 18 grandkids Sean, Patrick, Dashawn, Daquan, Chyna, Kendrick jr, Tyamese, Takiyah, Joshua, Jason jr, January, Chole, Journey, Jersey, Juelz, Jaylyn, Jemere, Jemar. 8 great grand children Shaquan, Kayla, Seniia, Marcel, Tiara, Tamara, Dashawn jr, Christian and 1 great-great grandson. His god kids Allan, Asia, Stella, Tasha and Mattie, his bestfriends/ Brothers, James Hughes and Wendell. Jessie also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
