On Sunday, February 13th, 2022, God called our beloved Cardell “Shu” Alston to eternal rest. Cardell Alston was born on October 12, 1960, in Brookdale hospital in Brooklyn, New York to Gene and Richard Alston. Cardell moved to Virginia and later came back to New York.
Cardell attended middle school at IS.275 and later furthered his education at Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York. Cardell became an employee at Unified Trucking where he worked from 2004-2015 and later retired.
Cardell was referred to as “Mr. Sport Commentator” to all the young men around the neighborhood. He enjoyed watching basketball, his favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers, he was a “trash talker” when it came to other teams he did not care for. He also enjoyed watching football. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Cardell was a jokester and always kept a smile on his face. He would make jokes with anybody he came in contact with. He was a devoted father and husband he was a big family man.
Cardell is preceded in death by his mother Gene Alston and his sister Robin Alston. Cardell survived by his spouse Jahkeemia Brown; his son Cardell Alston Jr, his daughters Kamren Alston, and Kameal Brown; his father Richard Alston; his brother Richard Alston Jr.; his nephew Richard Alston III and his niece Tiffany Alston. Cardell leaves behind a host of family members and friends.
