Special Info  Charles George Edwards, affectionately known as Pete, was born in Kingston, Jamaica on December 16, 1948. He was the 5th child for Linette Adina Hylton-Edwards and the 1st of five boys for Linette and her husband Charles Edwards. Charlie attended the St. Anne’s Primary School where he was a member of the Boys Scouts and excelled as a Scholar. After successfully passing the Colts Scholarship Exam, one year earlier than his peers, he was awarded a place at St. George’s College, one of the most respected learning institutions in the country. While at St. George’s College, Charlie took part in track and field and was also a member of the St. George’s College Manning Cup Football Squad. After completing High School, he got his first job at Carib Cement Company Limited. He then worked for Citibank Jamaica, where he progressed steadily through the organization before migrating to the United States. After migrating to the US, he continued to work in Banking and again made a name for himself as an outstanding employee. He later left Banking and ventured into the Transportation sector, where he provided services to several persons throughout New York City. For his family members who lived in other countries or out of state, it also became the norm to rely on Charlie for transportation when visiting New York. Charlie was also an inventor, a poet, and a philosopher. He enjoyed engaging in spirited debates on topics ranging from politics, religion and existentialism. He often shared information with his family on these topics by way of scriptures, motivational passages, thought-provoking literature and his own philosophical theories derived from his love of research, and his gift of spiritual discernment. Further, Charlie was a passionate lover of music. Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions and the Spinners were some of his favorites and he maintained an appreciation for contemporary music as well. Shabba Ranks, Inner Circle and Buju Banton were a few of the artistes that could be found in his catalogue. As a health and fitness enthusiast, he was known to incorporate powdered herbs into his daily routine to maintain his health and enhance his healthy lifestyle. Weight training was also a part of his daily routine. Charlie was a dapper dresser, sharp and dangerous in a 3 piece suit! His brothers share that if they needed a tailored suit to purchase, Charlie would tell them where to get the best ones and the best deals. Above all else, Charlie loved his family. All that he did and strived for he did with them in mind. He was blessed with 3 sons- Geoffrey, Raymond and Steven. He was also the proud Grandpa to 8 Grandchildren. Sadly, and regrettably Charlie George Edwards was taken from us unexpectedly on February 27, 2023. We are deeply heartbroken that we did not get to say goodbye, but we are eternally grateful for all the moments we shared with him and thankful for the life he lived. Pete, Charlie we are going to miss you. May Yahweh continue to guide you, may Yahweh continue to Bless you and grant you eternal Peace. We, your family and friends love you forever.
