Special Info  Robert Williams was born December 27, 1940 to the late Mrs Sadie Williams and Clyde Williams Sr. He grew up in the communities of Rowland, NC where he attended school. Robert relocated to New York in 1960 where he met, and married Elizabeth McNair-Williams on December 7 1963. In this union they raised four beautiful children: Renee Y. Williams-Clay (deceased). Robin A. Williams, Rhonda M. Williams (deceased), Robert (Butch) L. Williams Jr., Rodney L. Williams. Robert was a notable example to follow. In the winter of 1963, there was a blizzard in New York. Due to the blizzard, his job and other businesses were shut down, but Robert was determined to provide for his family. That determination led him to get hired by the City of New York, and he shoveled snow all day and throughout the night to help reopen business and to feed his family. In 1965, Robert served faithfully as a Deacon at the New Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church in Jamaica, NY. He sang in a quartet group called “The Bright Boys” along with his brother Paul Williams and his cousins. He was instrumental in managing the group and of course , we cannot forget how he mastered the song “Peace Be Still” Robert was a highly skilled expert mechanic who worked on classic luxury cars such as Rolls Royce, Bentleys, Mercedes Benzes, and Aston Martins. He manufactured the parts that were out of production. Robert was a man of integrity, and a man of his word. He never complained, and he never said no to helping others. He was always available whenever you called, for a ride, repair or advice. Robert’s “country humor” was unsurpassed by others. One of his witticisms was: “Carrots are good for your vision because you’ve never seen a rabbit wearing glasses.” After a hard day’s work, Robert enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and hand cracking a bag of assorted nuts. Robert served as the Senior Deacon at The Greater New Hope Deliverance Church in Jamaica, NY. He worked faithfully under the leadership of Apostle Mabel Mcnair. God called Deacon Robert Williams home on January 13th, 2024.
